i wish i could do something like this ... in all sincerity...can i ask: do you have like a library of textures in your computer that you use whenever you start a piece? or do you collect them piece by piece? I don't even know how to ask about the colours to get an idea how to start making something like this... do you work with 300dpi?
Thank you. Yes, I have a personal bank of textures and scans I use. There seems to be two phases; hunter and gatherer. I'm either collecting images for use in future projects or pooling said collection for new. It's usually one or the other.
This one employs the most amount of layers so far. Sometimes I do the textures, then put shapes to them later... this one just didn't fit anything.
This peice makes you feel as though in the presense of something epic, something that you will remember your whole life. The colors entwine wrong and right to me, for nothing is truly 100% wrong or right. The hiding figures, letters, the testure. Everything has a purpose and while many or most of the viewers will not know what that purpose is exactly, we all know how amazing what we are looking at is.
Rights and wrongs gathered and depicted in one great whole, the interwoven spots of light and darkness demonstrate these features. Plus I'm kinda seeing some figures lost in the folds and shadows, but I'm not sure if that was intended or if my eyse are just messing with me. But it does fit the description, in a way, all the people you've left behind, it's like a final look. Absolutely incredible.
